Lithuanian Police – Experienced and Reliable International Partner
The Lithuanian Police has extensive experience in implementing international projects funded by the EU Internal Security Fund, Interreg, Erasmus+ and other programmes. We successfully manage projects from idea to sustainable results, strengthening both national and European security.
Our Project Management Journey
We follow a clear and efficient project cycle:
Initiation – idea, proposal, application;
Implementation & Monitoring – team coordination, procurement, communication, interim reporting;
Completion – project results, final reports, documentation;
Post-project period – continuity of project results, ex-post reports and audits.
Main Actors
International Projects Division (under the International Cooperation Board of the Police Department) provides central coordination and support, while each project is driven by a dedicates Project Promoter and Implementation Team responsible for successful execution of results.

Selected Successful Projects – What We Deliver
I-LEAD Innovation- Law Enforcement Agencies Dialogue – (Horizon 2020) Strengthened cooperation, improved innovation uptake, enhanced officers’ skills, and developed practical guidelines.
DARLENE: Deep Augmented Reality Law Enforcement Ecosystem – (Horizon 2020) Developed AR-based tools for law enforcement, improved situational awareness, enhanced officer safety, and validated solutions through pilot use cases.
Passenger Name Record (PNR) Management System (Phase I) – Enhanced PIU efficiency, new Passenger Data Analysis Platform, face recognition, 57 training events (854 officers trained).
Creation of Workplaces for Habitaloscopic Data Register (HDR) – Unified biometric data collection and sharing system.
Reducing Corruption in Road Traffic Management – 37 mobile speed cameras (“tripods”) for greater transparency and lower corruption risk.
Strengthening Crime Prevention through Modern Surveillance – Advanced video/audio equipment for the Criminal Police Bureau.
Strengthening ARAS Explosives Disposal Capabilities – Special vehicle, demining robots, jammers, X-ray and drone for counter-terrorism.
EU Investment in SIRENE Unit – Modern premises, equipment and training for 600 officers + new interoperability tools.
Preparing for Emergencies at the Lithuania-Poland Border – Joint training, tactical medicine, drones, mobile command centre.
Virtual Reality Enhanced Training for Law Enforcement (VIRTLE) – (Erasmus+) Immersive VR scenarios for tactical medicine, communication and public-space operations.
