Lithuanian Police are looking for the three children abducted in Kaunas

Officers of Kaunas County Police Headquarters are looking for the three children abducted from the children’s welfare center “Pastogė” in Kaunas.

On 18 July 2023, around 09.55, spouses Inga (born in 1983) and Mindaugas (born in 1981) Vilčinskas impermissibly took their three children (born in the years 2018, 2016, and 2014) from the gates of the children’s welfare center “Pastogė” on P. Plechavičiaus street in Kaunas. They all may have left in a VW car of German registration.

Persons who know the whereabouts of the minors and their parents, have seen them, have noticed the indicated car, or can provide any other significant information on the issue, are encouraged to call 112.

Due to this incident, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated in accordance with paragraph 2 of the Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania: “A father, mother or a close relative who abducts their own or their relatives’ young child from a children’s establishment or from a person with whom the child lawfully resides shall be punished by community service or by a fine or by restriction of liberty or by arrest or by a custodial sentence for a term of up to two year.”
